Photographer notes:
As someone whom have gone through the whole ordeal lovely process known as the big day, in my memory there is something that sticks. Yes it is the laughs and touching moments i have (which we have captured on both video on photo) but also it is those of moments where somethings goes haywire and my decision is needed, there are also those moments of my guest smiling and interacting, there are also those moments where family and friends gather after a long time of absence and starts updating each other. In another words beside smile and love, my wedding day actually comprises of other elements such as stress and problems (which remembering them now actually puts a smile to my face. just like how we hated our army days yet reminisce about them 10 years later over dinner). It is also about relationships, my guest and their interaction as well as my guest and their views. I recall walking down the wedding isle with all the iphones facing me and wondering what is it like to see the images behind their screen. Another star of the show is the kids. The little bundle of joy during the wedding, the love of the parents and the elderly relative’s towards the kid. Last but not least my wedding was only possible because of the staff whom did their best for us (yes i still remember the interaction with the banquet manager both in good and bad ways).
Thus with this in mind, i went about capturing this wedding from a 1. point of view of that from the guest. Thinking in my mind what would the guest see from behind the window or what would they see from where they are sitting. 2. The emotions, where the hugs and kisses are at not only on the bride and groom but even between that of a parent and kid or smile between friends meeting up. 3. the moments seen behind the phone. 4. and every little things that adds up to that wonderful day. So yes there is lots of shots with a very 3rd person view captured form a distance. Still why not? it does give you as a couple a unique idea of what is happening away from you. When combined with all the close up shots from your main photographer i think this would only make the memory of your wedding day all so much fuller and wonderful.
